Changchun Jingyuetan International Forest Marathon is the first forest marathon in China featuring a cross-country marathon course, and is co-organized by the Changchun Municipal People's Government, the Jilin Tourism Development and Reform Commission, and the Swedish Vasaloppet Association. The race includes men's and women's full (42.195 kilometers), half (21.0975 kilometers) forest cross-country marathon and 7 kilometers mini-marathon categories. The event attracted nearly 8,000 participants from 32 countries and regions, including China, the United States, Canada, Australia, Russia and New Zealand, and more than 500 foreign athletes.

Different from the city road running marathon, Changchun Jingyuetan Forest Marathon adopts the most fashionable forest cross-country marathon form in today's world. The full marathon course is certified by China Association of Athletics Federations and consists of 13 kilometers of mountain slopes, 13 kilometers of forest sandy greenway, and 16 kilometers of highway around the pool, with a cumulative climb of 750 meters. Starting from the Jingyuetan Scenic Area "Goddess Square", it passes through Roller Skating Base, Jingyuetan Second Ring Road, Wetland Park, Vasaloppet Museum, Manchurian Tiger Park, West Gate of Jingyuetan, the towering forest area, and the highway around the pool based on the mountains and the water, etc. The whole course is set up to highlight the natural ecological beauty of Jingyuetan National Scenic Spot, and the fitness sport is perfected to blend with the forest track, so that runners will not only experience the excitement and challenge of the marathon, but also enjoy the ecological beauty and the pleasant feeling of "harmonious coexistence of man and nature".

Jingyuetan Forest Marathon advocates the concept of "ecology, leisure, fashion, health", builds a new platform for popular leisure sports with rich participation, and creates a new bright scenery for Changchun summer tourism. In addition to build a high-level competition platform for the majority of running enthusiasts, adhering to the concept of sports, leisure and tourism, Jingyuetan Park creates a refreshing, passionate summer feast, so that people are away from the haze, run to nature, and enjoy the comfortable breathing.
